Everyone loves a good story

Maggie King is, first and foremost, a storyteller – both conversationally through words and actions, and visually through art and photography. Spend five minutes in her presence and you’ll feel like an old friend being regaled with stories – from her small-town upbringing, to her world travels. Spend five minutes perusing her images and you’ll feel transported to the place and time they were captured.

Maggie discovered a passion for photography at the age of 15 when she volunteered for the yearbook committee as a high school freshman. Starting her journey as a photographer limited to film and darkroom chemicals forced her to learn the importance of perfecting the shot well before digital cameras and Photoshop were a thing. She has been shooting professionally since 2012.

Behind the lens she’s most comfortable blending into the background, photographing unscripted events as they naturally unfold rather than forcing awkwardly staged smiles. She excels at capturing the emotions of the moment, allowing her to produce truly unique and captivating images.

When the lens cap is on, Maggie can be found spending time with her husband, two sons, and the family dog Pliny (a Vizsla named after her favorite beer). She obsessively listens to music, and often speaks in song lyrics, and loves traveling, reading, enjoying a craft-brewed IPA, and geeking out on a DIY project (like automating her house, renovating bathrooms, or building a stroboscope).

Maggie’s photography has been published in American Way magazine and shared globally by many happy clients.
